Monday was a typical day at Perkins. After my AP Bio test it was a great pick-me-up being able to chill with the animals. When I got there, the Animal Center was deserted. So, I decided that it would be pointless to sit there and wait for someone to come around, so I got to work! I went off to the Raptor Center to clean the bird cages. While there, Vinnie, our turkey vulture, thought it would be fun to attack my foot and land on my back. While that was fun and a little bit scary, I was glad to get out of his cage (his roommate Sweetie was no help to me). Once I was done with the Raptor Center I returned to the Animal Center where I met 3 new senior project girls from Shaker Heights. While at first I thought it would be fun to have more people, I realized that there really isn't enough work in a given day for 5 senior project people to do. However, I'm sure we'll figuring it out! As the day continued on, I found myself alone in the Animal Center again. I was asked to cut up more fruits and veggies for the animals' food. So, for the last hour of the day, I cut up about 20 pears, lots of kiwi and strawberries, shucked some corn, and cut up some peppers. Although uneventful, the day was fun and helped me de-stress after the Bio test.
