Farm hand
Alongside working with the members of the CMSD rowing committee, i have been spending much of my day also helping out at Kelly's Working Well Farm in Chagrin Falls. I was originally tagging along with my brother but I decided, because my other commitment didnt require me to be on site at all times, that I would make this another aspect of my project. On the farm, I am working with two contractors on building a pavilion and making a pond. In doing this i was put in charge of roofing (because my brother is afraid of heights), without a harness, twenty five feet in the air. It has been good work to learn about construction and to get over any fears that i may have once had regarding ladders, drills, nail guns, etc. I have continued to work on this project, learning to operate the heavy machinery (steam roller and bobcat) to help out in any way i can to get this farm going.

Awesome that you get to do two projects at once! They both sound really fun. Do you think you'll just switch over to Ms. Clark's farm? I get the situation you're in, my project is starting to be not as on site as I thought.
ReplyDeleteAre you switching projects? We've heard little from you...
ReplyDeleteI am not going to switch projects, but the CMSD one will require less of my time than i had thought, so that will likely happen at the same time as working on the farm. So far its worked out really well, as it is easy for me to take time off from the farm to focus some days more on the CMSD project.
