Little Talks

Everyone likes feeling important. That's why when you want to get good advice, you need to say, "hey, I really need your help". Instantly they'll feel like their advice could be a matter of life or death, and you can bet it'll be at least a little bit useful. For my senior project, creating an iPhone case, I need to be able to talk to people, ask them about their cases, and get good feedback before anything else. For that reason, today I kicked off my senior project by going to local businesses in Chardon and talking to workers about their phones. I asked what they dislike and liked about the phones, and focused on questions about what they do with their phones when they are being active (for example working out, gardening, biking). By going out and getting face time with people I am able to figure out my customer segment, one of the first steps of starting a business. In the entrepreneurship class this year, one of the most important things I learned is that an idea is nothing without customers willing to buy. This image is taken from an online course the Entrepreneurship class took, and the statement has been proven over and over again to be true. I plan on gathering more information tomorrow as well as doing some more research of different cases and materials, and then I will be able to move on to the creative part-creating an initial design.
